After pulling guard following the opening exchange in the fight, Craig immediately began attacking Jamahal Hill’s arm as he looked for the finish. Craig eventually locked on the armbar and as he extended the elbow, Hill’s arm snapped but the referee didn’t see it so the fight continued.
Eventually with Hill’s arm actually flopping around without having any control whatsoever, the referee Al Guinee finally stepped into stop the fight with the end coming at 1:59 in the opening round.
“He either taps, naps or it snaps. Tonight it happened to snap,” Craig said after securing his third straight win in the UFC. “I felt it go.
“That’s why there was no more point of putting pressure on it. It’s the ref’s job to protect my opponent. [His arm] was just dancing all over my body.”

There was a lot of bad blood between the light heavyweights going into the night but Craig obviously didn’t allow that to alter his performance as he was looking to drag Hill to the ground from the opening exchange.
Once the fight landed on the canvas, Craig was throwing up submissions from the bottom until he finally caught the armbar during a scramble that eventually led to the finish.
Because the referee stopped the fight due to the injury, the win is actually recorded as a TKO for Craig rather than a submission.
Either way, Craig picks up a statement victory on Saturday night while handing Hill the first loss of his professional career.
